Wendish is an adjective relating to the historical region of Wendland or the West Slavic peoples associated with the former Duchy of Pomerania, or more broadly to the Wendish language and culture. In modern use it often describes things of or connected with Wends, their language, or Renaissance-era Germanic and Slavic intercultural contexts. It can also appear in ethnographic or historical texts to denote origin from the Wendish peoples.
