Vasoconstrictor

A vasoconstrictor is a substance or agent that narrows blood vessels, reducing blood flow and increasing blood pressure. In medicine, vasoconstrictors are used to raise blood pressure in hypotensive states or to reduce bleeding during procedures. They act on vascular smooth muscle to induce constriction, often via adrenergic receptors.
