Plastic is an adjective describing materials made from synthetic polymers, or something malleable and easily shaped like a moldable substance. In common usage, it also characterizes something superficial or fabricated, lacking lasting value. The term covers both physical material (plastic toys, plastic bottles) and figurative senses (plasticity of memory), and is frequently found in technical, design, and consumer contexts.
