Pinguecula

Pinguecula is a small, yellowish, benign conjunctival growth on the sclera near the cornea, usually caused by sun exposure and irritation. It is typically asymptomatic but can feel gritty or cause irritation in bright light. The term is used in ophthalmology to describe this discrete, raised lesion in the eye’s mucous membrane.
