Orthopaedist is a medical doctor specializing in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system, including bones, joints, ligaments, and muscles. The term is chiefly used in British English and older American usage; in modern US English it is often spelled orthopedic surgeon or orthopedist. An orthopaedist may also manage rehabilitation and preventive care for musculoskeletal conditions.
