Nutria is a medium-sized, semi-aquatic rodent native to South America, often called a nutria or coypu. It has a robust body, webbed hind feet, and a distinctive orange-brown fur. In some regions it’s regarded as a pest, but linguistically the term refers to the species Myocastor coypus and isn't tied to any culinary meaning.
