Gear

Gear refers to equipment or apparatus, especially necessary tools for a particular activity. It can also mean to align or adjust something, or to prepare for an outcome (as in “get into gear”). The term spans everyday items (bikes, cameras) to specialized machinery, and is used in both literal and metaphorical contexts. In short, gear is the tools, clothes, or setup you need to perform or operate.
