Eucharist is a noun referring to the Christian ceremony of Holy Communion, or the elements (bread and wine) regarded as the body and blood of Christ. In liturgical contexts it denotes the ritual act of thanksgiving. The term also extends to the rite itself, and in some traditions to the consecrated elements and the culminating Eucharistic celebration.
