Ebers Papyrus is an ancient Egyptian medical text, named after its first modern owner, Georg Ebers, who published a 1875 edition. It consists of a long papyrus roll containing medical prescriptions, remedies, and magical spells, dating from roughly 1550 BCE to 150 BCE. It is widely cited as the oldest, most substantial surviving medical document from ancient Egypt and a cornerstone for the study of ancient Egyptian medicine and papyrology.
